“Since the 1980’s the ancient shoreline, coinciding with the southern side of the archaeological site, has been explored leading to the discovery of the boat-houses, the skeletons of the victims, the large wooden boat and the collapsed portico (pronaos) of the Temple of Venus (Sacellum B).
The resin casts of the skeletons found in the boat-houses, finally placed in situ at the end of 2011, now give visitors a vivid image of the last, painful moments of their lives.”
